A GOLF day took place recently at Stockwood Park Golf Centre in Luton to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the ‘Kevin Duggan Golf Academy’, which is situated at the Bedfordshire course.
Kevin Duggan was a young Luton man from an Irish family who was killed by a drink driver in a road accident in 1998. His family set out to preserve his memory through his love of golf by holding a number charity golf days, which funded the establishment of the ‘Kevin Duggan Golf Academy’ at Stockwood Park Golf Centre.
The golf day was a great success and among those taking part were a group of golfers who travelled over from Ireland for the occasion. A special plaque was unveiled by the Mayor of Luton Cllr Dave Taylor and John Yapp from the Ryder Cup / PGA to mark the 10th anniversary celebrations and an after party took place at the Sugarloaf pub in Luton.
