The objectives of the Ryder Cup European Development Trust are to enable the Ryder Cup to support the development of golf at grass root level throughout Europe.

Once you have looked at the website and got all the information you need, then you need to write down the details of your proposal so that the Trustees can consider it. Your proposal should include as much information as possible about what the project will do, who will participate and benefit and what any monies received would be used for. You should also include details of any other funding received or applied for, so that the Trustees can get a better picture of the project.

The Trustees on the Board of the Ryder Cup European Development Trust meet a few times a year in order to review applications to the Trust and to make funding decisions. As an application is received it is forwarded to the Trustees for review at the next meeting.
As the funding for The Ryder Cup European Development Trust comes from the Ryder Cup Matches between Europe and the United States, only projects based in Europe are eligible for funding.
No, the Ryder Cup European Development Trust does not offer finance for actual building/construction work, but it may be able to offer funding for the supply of equipment for a golf club.
The objectives of the Trust are to grow the game of golf at grassroots level, so they would be looking to fund projects where they can see that there might be sustainable growth. This might take two to three years, but it is unlikely that any funding would be given for several years.
The Trustees make their decisions on funding at regular board meetings and discuss the projects received then. Should they not be able to make a decision based on the proposal, then someone will be asked to contact you for further information. It is not necessary for you to come and make your presentation in person.
No, the Ryder Cup European Development Trust is keen to grow the game of golf throughout Europe for everyone and all projects will be considered, whether for the development of juniors at a club level and beyond, or for everyone at a public golf facility or a golf event.
Following the board meeting at which your proposal will have been discussed, you will receive a letter on behalf of the Trustees, detailing their decision. If your proposal has not been granted funding, you should be given a reason as to why this decision has been taken. You may be offered the chance to work with someone from the Ryder Cup European Development Trust in order to develop your proposal and make it more likely to succeed at a future board meeting if it is resubmitted.
