The Constituent General Assembly of the Association of Teachers and Golf players of Spain was held on April 19, 1972 at 19:00 pm in boardroom of the National Institute of Physical Education and Sports in Madrid. This was the first association of professional athletes who represented Spain.
The real promoter and creator of this new Association was Juan Antonio Andreu, the then President of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation. With the support and legal advice from Vice President Juan Castresana, and after long meetings in the INEF, the Association’s statutes were shaped and inspired by replicating foreign models.
The first Board consisted of the following members:
