The Ryder Cup European Development Trust provided funding to the PGA of Iceland to enable it to develop its education programme.
In 2009 the PGA of Iceland’s training programme was officially recognised by the Confederation of Professional Golf’s training committee, which was a huge step forward in developing the game in Iceland.
Thanks to funding from the Trust, eight students passed the course in 2009, with nine students graduating as qualified PGA teachers in 2009, all of whom are now working as professionals in golf clubs throughout Europe.
